Evgeny Yurchenko: New Rostelecom to become a real blue chipFinam
The reorganization of Svyazinvest should lead to significant growth in capitalization and the credit ratings of the merged company, and the new Rostelecom should become a real blue chip, the general director of Svyazinvest Evgeny Yurchenko said in an interview with the corporate publication.
“So far, the weighting of telecom equities in the Russian Trading System (RTS) has been extremely insignificant, and Rostelecom’s shares were not even on the list of companies used to frame a weighting of benchmark RTS index on account of its ad hoc industry status. By contrast, the shares of the merged Rostelecom will listed on all major benchmarks, including the MICEX, RTS, BRIC countries, etc.”, Yurchenko emphasized.
Mr. Yurchenko went on to say that the merged company would have serious financial resources at its disposal, since at present leading Russian banks are willing to float ruble-denominated loans to the company with a 7% rate.
Evgeny Yurchenko went on to say that RTOs will be wound up as legal entities in 2011, although the merged Rostelecom will actually commence operations by the end of 2010.
