Svyazinvest plans in 2010 to double its installed capacity of FTTx ports to 2.7 mln portsPrime-TASS
Svyazinvest intends to double the installed capacity of its FTTx ports to 2.7 mln ports. This news was announced to journalists by Svyazinvest’s general director Evgeny Yurchenko.
Mr. Yurchenko pointed out that Svyazinvest has been rolling out its Internet access facilities using two technologies: DSL and FTTx. “In 2010 broadband Internet will be developed mainly using FTTx technology”, he said.
As PRIME-TASS pointed out earlier, the total length of backbone and intrazonal telecom lines amounted to over 12,000 km.
The company plans to raise the number of its broadband Internet users from 5.2 mln in 2009 to 7 mln in 2010.
